This 3 Ingredient recipe is something I have been making for years and it’s a little addicting so I only make it maybe once or twice a year! These make about 47 bite size Oreo balls and are perfect for work parties, bake sales, or a treat to bring over for an after dinner dessert!
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 1 package of Oreos (you can get different flavored Oreos if you would like I have used regular mint, and peanut butter they come out delicious but I don’t recommend using the golden ones or the double stuffed)
- 1 package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese (room temp)
- 23oz bag of milk chocolate morsels
Supplies you may need:
- 2 Cookie sheets
- Wax paper
- Hand mixer or a Stand mixer
- Mixing bowl
- Fondue pot with poker stick (optional but recommended makes it easier)
- Space in freezer for cookie sheets
- Spoon
How to make:
- Take the package of Oreos and you can do one of two things:
- I don’t have a food processor so I put them in a gallon ziplock bag Anf use a meat tenderizer to crush them as best as possible into a ground fine pieces
- If you have a food processor, use that to crush them into a semi-fine mixture
- In a mixing bowl add the Oreo pieces if you have a stand mixer or a hand mixer use this to add in the room temperature cream cheese. It is best if you cut the rectangle of cream cheese into small cubes it will mix a lot easier in.
- Once everything is mixed in well, you make the ball shapes and place on a cookie sheet with wax paper on top. They should be bite size it make around 48 but you can make them however big you would like, be mindful that you will be dipping them in chocolate so you don’t want them too big.
- When the cookie tray is filled with evenly spaced oreo balls, place in freezer to set the balls to be dipped, this will allow them to not break apart when you place it in the hot chocolate.
- While the Oreo balls are cooling down, melt your chocolate, you can do this many ways I have. A mini fondue pot (linked here) I’ve had mine for 8 years and it works wonderful, but you can microwave the bowl, heat it on the stove with the directions on the back of your morsels package!
- Once the Oreo balls have been in the refrigerator/ freezer for a least 10-15 minutes you can start to dip them in the milk chocolate, you can only really dip about 10-15 before having to re-refrigerate them because they will go back to room temp and start to fall apart in the chocolate and become frustrating to dip.
- When you dipped them in the chocolate let sit back in the refrigerator to set the chocolate to harden, before you place you can decorate the tops with sprinkles, crushed candy canes or really anything you would like!
- And Enjoy, but be careful they are a little addictive =]
